Perthshire

There’s something wonderfully rewarding about heading away from the city for a day of enjoyment, and here in Dundee we’re surrounded by some truly amazing locations that are well worth visiting. The beautiful Perthshire region lies to the west of Dundee and is perfect for a day trip. The only problem is you may have to make a difficult choice about how best to spend your time.

Some of the more popular activities include exploring the spectacular Loch Leven National Nature Reserve, savouring the glorious vista at the Queen’s View at Loch Tummel, touring one of the many whisky distilleries to be found in the area and going back in time with a visit to the beautiful Blair Castle. White water rafting at Aberfeldy is also understandably popular with the more adventurous traveller.

And of course there’s also a wonderful winter sports centre at Glenshee on the Perthshire-Aberdeenshire border, a hugely popular destination for skiers and snowboarders alike. If you’re feeling particularly brave, be sure to test your skills on the Tiger, one of the steepest of all Scotland’s pistes. For many Dundee locals, visits to Glenshee are a must in the winter.

After an enjoyable day out in Perthshire, the warmest of welcomes awaits you on your return to our city. You’ll find plenty of Dundee restaurants, bars, cafés and entertainment venues ready and waiting to help you finish off your day in style. When the perfect day is followed by the perfect evening, you know you’re in a very special place.
