scotland vs england comedy show redesign

Forget the football for a night this Scotland v England clash is being settled with punchlines instead.

EHP Theatre Company is bringing Scotland v England The Comedy Show to Dundee’s Whitehall Theatre on Thursday 25 June 2026, promising a big night of laughs, banter and a healthy bit of old-rivalry nonsense.

The idea is gloriously simple: pit a team of Scottish comedians against a team of English comedians, stick them on stage, and let the audience decide who comes out on top.

So, no penalties.
No VAR.
Just jokes.

Representing Team Scotland are Des McLean, Marc Jennings and Gareth Mutch a line-up with more than enough sharpness, swagger and home advantage to make things interesting.

Lining up for Team England are Bobby Davro, Alun Cochrane and John Archer, bringing their own mix of experience, wit and comic firepower south of the border.

The result should be a properly lively night: part stand-up show, part mock showdown, and part excuse to enjoy the age-old Scotland-England rivalry in a setting where nobody has to pretend they understand the offside rule.

Better still, the show leans fully into the shared misery and gallows humour that tends to follow a summer of football hype. As the promo puts it, there may well be “another summer of huge football disappointment” ahead but at least this version should give everyone something to laugh about.

For Dundee audiences, it looks like a cracking one-off night at the Whitehall: a strong mixed bill, a familiar rivalry, and the sort of format that should keep the room bouncing from start to finish.
