Local foodie influencer Craig Morrison, named one of the UK’s most successful food creators, has announced he will host an upcoming pop-up kitchen event at Eastfield in Dundee. The supper club will run for two nights, 8 9 May, with limited tickets. The event has been shared with Morrison’s 600,000 Instagram followers. Saturday’s tickets have already sold out, and Friday’s tickets are likely to follow quickly.

“Mostly Veggie, Always Delicious”

Local Craig Morrison, who attended Leiths School of Food & Wine, has made the most of this online accessibility.

In less than a year, his vegetarian food content has helped him amass more than 600,000 followers on  Instagram. Morrison shares his “mostly veggie” recipes on the site, amassing thousands of likes on recipes like easy cashew butter curry and smoky soy chunk tacos.

Morrison also offers a recipe subscription service via his website, with new recipes added every week and granting access to all existing recipes. The intended aim of the service was to encourage viewers to reduce their regular meat intake.

Morrison has amassed his followers across a range of different social media platforms through carefully crafted content and recipes. Likely, Morrison may also delve into live streaming, such as that of Instagram Live or TikTok Live, something utilised by many other food creators to foster greater engagement. In other industries too, live streaming has become central, with the rise of Twitch and similar platforms signifying this. For example, when looking for the best bingo app, you’ll find most platforms now offer live bingo, creating an authentic experience from home.

After graduating from Leiths School of Food and Wine as student of the year in 2022, he worked for food subscription service Marley Spoon, a HelloFresh competitor, in Australia. He has produced content for the likes of BBC Good Food and other publications.

Morrison’s First Supper Club Event

Until now, Morrison’s followers have only been able to watch recipe reels or subscribe to weekly recipe updates. But the foodie influencer recently announced his first-ever pop-up/supper club. Morrison will be guesting at Eastfield, Dundee, for two nights 8 and 9 May.

This follows a trend seen for other creator chefs, who are looking to translate their online following into real paying customers, with pop-up dining experiences by popular social media chefs becoming a regular occurrence.

Eastfield is an independent restaurant located on Perth Rd. The restaurant is run by former Ballintaggart head chef Harris McNeill and is known for its seasonal dishes, including a lot of vegetarian options. Opened in 2024 on Perth Road, the local cafe is now widely regarded as one of Dundee’s hidden gems on the food scene.

Although this is Morrison’s first pop-up kitchen event, he and McNeill have worked together previously, with the Eastfield owner saying of the event: “It’s going to be a good one for sure!”
