Wheatley Elm Wellbeing Walk
Join us for this year’s Urban Tree Festival highlight, the Wheatley Elm Wellness Stroll. We’ll explore the hardy and adaptable Wheatley Elms scattered across Edinburgh, delve into the story of this rare species, unique to just two locations in Britain with Edinburgh as one of them, and discover ways to enhance our personal well-being along the way.
Gather on May 10 at 2:00 PM (concluding at 3:30 PM) at the upper entrance of Granton Crescent Park. Location via What3Words: skips.bets.aspect. Look for the bench just beyond the gate at the start of the trail linking Granton Crescent to the lower end of Granton View; that’s where we’ll meet.
Expect a mix of walking, wellness activities, artistic engagement, conversations, and insights into the Wheatley Elm trees of our city. Everyone is invited—adults, kids, dogs, as well as those with strollers or wheelchairs. Please bring water and dress in comfortable shoes. We’ll have chocolate to share!
Feel free to reach out with any inquiries. The closest bus stops are at Granton Square (serving multiple routes), and the number 19 bus stops right at the park entrance on Granton Crescent, accessible here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/EdV3xZHNqkL7MQWdA (w3w///towns.trades.pine). Free parking is available along Granton Crescent.
Note: There is a fee for participating in this event.
