Whales monkeys dragons bears warrior dogs ghost ships and green men
Gather directly beneath the TAY WHALE SCULPTURE, right beside the V&A—it’s impossible to overlook! Discover the bizarre tale of the Tay Whale while also experiencing some of the most cringe-worthy poetry ever written. Walk along paths where submarines once floated at their moorings, explore a forgotten medieval Close, and listen to captivating tales of conflicts, polar bears, comic figures, and naval legends. Where do the hidden underground streams still flow, and who is the mysterious Green Man of the historic Dundee Howff Cemetery? Spend approximately two hours with a warm and knowledgeable local guide who will share these stories and many more. Your guide, Alastair, has served as a Volunteer on the RRS Discovery for several years and will urge you to visit it on your own time, but don’t wait too long! All are invited to join. Please note, this is a paid event.
