Volunteer in Balbirnie Park
Are you excited to step outside, breathe in the fresh air, and help plant some trees? We invite everyone to join us at Balbirnie for our tree planting events, whether you’re an experienced planter or trying it for the first time! We provide all the necessary equipment and trees, and we’ll guide you through the planting process. At BFF, we’re passionate about outdoor education and well-being, and this initiative falls under our Nature Pioneers program—a community-driven, youth-initiated project with full adult backing at every stage.

– Team BFF
We deeply appreciate the backing from Fife Council, Fife Coast & Countryside Trust, Jenny the Ranger from Forestry and Land Scotland, as well as Markinch Primary School, its students, and our wonderful community. We’re thrilled to host these inclusive planting days, Friday youth gatherings, and school outdoor learning programs, all of which contribute to the enhancement of Balbirnie Park. Beyond that, these activities provide young people and primary students with valuable opportunities to learn essential, hands-on skills and understand nature’s sustainability, while also fostering mental health and well-being for all involved. A huge thank you to our current funders: the Coop, Youth Action Fife (YLAG), and FCCAN (Fife Communities Climate Action Network).
Please note: This is a paid event.
