The Dead Curious Cafe at Tribe Porty The Dword mind your language

**Curious About Death Cafe**
The Curious About Death Cafe at Tribe Porty offers a unique space to engage in candid discussions about death and the process of dying. Often, such topics are only broached in somber, medical settings when they can no longer be ignored.

There is value in making death a more familiar topic, as it broadens our understanding of what it means to live a fulfilling life. Many shy away from contemplating mortality, which can breed anxiety and unease. By fostering open dialogue, we can demystify death, reducing its stigma and helping individuals face it with greater calm and acceptance.

Come be a part of our engaging sessions at the Curious About Death Cafe, where we’ll delve into our feelings and connections with death. This is a supportive and welcoming space that encourages participation and upholds mutual respect as a cornerstone.

Your host, Loretta Dunn, is a Life Celebrant and former nurse with extensive experience supporting grieving families and those nearing the end of life.

This event operates on a pay-what-you-can basis, with a suggested contribution of £5.

**About Loretta**
Loretta Dunn serves as a life celebrant and death doula, deeply committed to the concepts of living and dying well. Her background spans a lengthy career in nursing and midwifery, and she is affiliated with The Institute for the Study of Birth, Breath and Death. Additionally, she is an EASE Facilitator (End of Life Aid Skills for Everyone) through the Scottish Partnership for Palliative Care. Loretta is dedicated to bringing conversations about death into the light, believing this helps us embrace the present and live more fully. Compassion and care are the foundation of her work.

The evening promises a secure and calm setting for sharing thoughts and gaining deeper insights into spiritual wellness as a pathway to living well and preparing for a peaceful death.

“Love has blossomed within my inner circle of dear friends and family. By openly discussing life and death, we’ve forged stronger connections. Death, a universal journey often shrouded in silence, has become a central theme in our talks. This has taught me not only about the inevitable end but, more importantly, about how to truly live.” – Dani Trudeau on the power of discussing mortality
