Embark on a journey with Ruth, beginning at The Meadows close to the University of Edinburgh. She will guide you through Edinburgh’s historic Old Town to the New Town, with a stop at the Writers Museum. Uncover the stories of female writers who resided, labored, and penned their works in this city, many of whom outshone their male counterparts during their lifetimes. The tour concludes just beyond Charlotte Square.
This experience lasts for two and a half hours (150 minutes) and takes place entirely outdoors without any cover, so dress appropriately for the weather! Note that there are no restroom breaks or seating available during the route.

Please arrive at the base of Middle Meadow Walk, located on The Meadows, 5-10 minutes prior to the start of the tour.

The tour will wrap up just north of Charlotte Square.

No, a digital ticket on your phone will suffice.

Be advised that there are no seating options along the path, meaning the tour involves continuous walking and standing.
