Rockpool Ramble

Explore the fascinating wildlife hidden in North Berwick’s rockpools through a short presentation and a guided walk along the adjacent rocky coastline. This outing is ideal for those passionate about marine life, eager to wear wellies, and enjoy the outdoors! Be prepared to marvel at the diversity of species and their unique adaptations, from darting crabs to stunning sea anemones. Suitable for participants aged 5 and up, the cost is £10 per adult (£9 for silver members of the Scottish Seabird Centre, £8 for gold members) and £7.50 per child. These funds are greatly appreciated and will support our educational and conservation initiatives across Scotland. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Well-behaved, quiet dogs are permitted but must remain on a short leash at all times.

**Location**
Participants will gather with a team member on the grassy area in front of the Learning Hub outside the Scottish Seabird Centre, before proceeding to the rocky shoreline at East Beach, just a brief stroll from the starting point.

**What We Provide**
We will supply trays, buckets, and hand sanitizer. A comprehensive health and safety overview will be given prior to the shore visit, and our team will be available throughout to assist with spotting and identifying various species.

**What to Bring**
Please come equipped with wellies, sturdy walking boots, or grippy shoes, weather-appropriate attire, a drink, and any necessary medications.

**Accessibility**
Regrettably, this event is not accessible for wheelchair users or strollers. Reaching the shore requires a short walk (~200m) over paths and sandy beach terrain. The shoreline itself features uneven and slippery surfaces, so caution is advised while navigating.

**Safety Measures**
Our group leader is a certified first aider, equipped with a first aid kit and a mobile phone. A copy of the event’s risk assessment will be available for review on the day.

**Cancellation Policy**
Should the event be cancelled due to inclement weather or other unforeseen issues, we will notify you the day prior and issue a refund.
