“an utterly captivating performance” (????? Edinburgh Guide)
“true virtuosos of their art” (????? Binge Fringe)
“a rare and authentic ambiance absent in today’s digital age” (????? Corr Blimey)
Moonlight Concerts warmly welcomes you to experience the brilliance of Usher Hall’s rising star, Matthew Shiel, as he commands the spotlight with Mozart’s awe-inspiring masterpieces. Revel in the intense and somber Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor (featured in the Academy Award-winning film ‘Amadeus’) and the exquisite Piano Concerto No. 27 in B-flat major—an event that often leaves audiences in awe.

Matthew will lead The Candlelight Orchestra directly from the piano, mirroring Mozart’s own historic practice, for a remarkable night of pianistic brilliance and heartfelt narrative at St Vincent’s Chapel. Built in 1857, this chapel stands as one of Scotland’s architectural treasures and a stunning venue for such an occasion.

Surrender to the haunting allure of Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, then dive into the deep emotional resonance of Mozart’s last piano concerto, No. 27 in B-flat major, which he debuted just before his passing.

Come be part of Piano Concertos by Candlelight, a tribute to Mozart’s enduring genius, highlighting the piano’s captivating depth and versatility in its full glory!
