Landscape Seascape Urban Sketching All Levels 10 weeks
**Course Introduction**
This course is open to everyone, whether you’re a novice or a seasoned artist captivated by the vibrant allure of cityscapes. No matter if you’re just starting out with urban sketching or aiming to refine your unique approach, you’ll find a nurturing and encouraging environment with expert support.
You’ll discover how to observe and depict the urban landscape — from lively streets and ancient buildings to serene green spaces and modern designs — transforming your insights into vivid, personality-filled sketches.
**Instructional Method**
Each week, we’ll focus on a different urban theme or setting, blending indoor workshops with outdoor drawing sessions (weather dependent). Through live demos, group conversations, and personalized critiques, you’ll sharpen your sense of composition, proportion, and narrative in your artwork. You’ll also get to try out various tools and methods, boosting both your confidence and artistic expression.
**Skills You’ll Acquire**
By completing this 10-week program, you will:
• Build core abilities in perspective, proportion, and architectural drawing.
• Master the art of swiftly capturing motion, mood, and intricate details in dynamic city environments.
• Cultivate a personal sketching style through structured exercises and creative exploration.
• Prepare a selection of your artwork for showcase at our collective Summer Exhibition.
**Materials and Fees**
Drawing boards will be supplied for indoor classes. Participants are asked to bring their own sketchbook (suggested size A4 or A3) and chosen drawing tools, such as pencils, fine liners, ink, watercolors, or colored pencils. For outdoor sessions, a portable stool or mat and suitable clothing for the weather are advised.
