Guided tour of ancient Dundee Howff Cemetery Meet in Meadowside entry
“The Howff” derives from an ancient Scottish term for a gathering spot, and the reason behind this name will become clear during the tour! Originally presented as a gift to Dundee’s citizens by Mary Queen of Scots, The Howff serves as the final resting place for both the wealthy and the less fortunate of the city. The gravestones bear witness to 300 years of turbulent history. During the tour, we’ll stop at a few key spots to explore Dundee’s connections to the Slave Trade and the Scottish Witch Trials. There’s much to discover in just 80 minutes!
