Fife Traditional Singing Festival

Greetings from the Fife Traditional Singing Festival – FifeSing2025!
We invite you to the Falkland Community Hall for our yearly Traditional Concert featuring Old Songs and Bothy Ballads. This year, we’re thrilled to welcome exceptional performers of traditional music, including Kate Taylor from Skene, Aberdeenshire; Macdara Yeates from Dublin, recipient of the RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards 2025; Steve Turner from Nottingham, a celebrated vocalist and masterful concertina player; and Ellie Beaton from Rothienorman, now based in Glasgow, who was named BBC Radio Scotland’s Young Traditional Musician of 2025. The evening will be guided by hosts Jimmy Hutchison, Chris Miles, and Pete Shepheard, all accomplished singers and key organizers of FifeSing2025. Enjoy complimentary tea and coffee during the break.

The Old Songs & Bothy Ballads performance in Falkland serves as the highlight Saturday Night Concert within the broader Fife Traditional Singing Festival, which includes additional events from Friday, May 16, to Sunday, May 18, at the Lumsden Memorial Hall in nearby Freuchie. Feel free to attend the full weekend or select specific talks, performances, and sessions that interest you.
