**About the Festival**
The Festival of Europe (Scotland) aims to strengthen ties and mutual understanding between Scotland and European nations through dialogue, community engagement, arts, culture, heritage, science, and education. It also seeks to promote peace, human rights, the rule of law, conflict resolution, and reconciliation. Europe Day, observed annually on 9 May, honors peace and solidarity across Europe, commemorating the anniversary of the pivotal ‘Schuman Declaration,’ which proposed a groundbreaking model of political collaboration in Europe to render war among its countries unimaginable.
While centered on Europe Day, celebrated on 9 May, the festival extends over a week, spanning dates before and after this significant day. It features a variety of events, some directly managed by the Festival of Europe (Scotland), while most are independent initiatives organized by diverse entities including public institutions, businesses, and non-governmental organizations, each overseeing their respective activities.
The inaugural festival was successfully launched in May 2024 through the joint efforts of multiple organizations. The upcoming 2025 festival will include events and initiatives supported by over twenty different groups.
**Please Note: This is a Paid Event**
