Edinburgh Premiere of Ceibo and QA with Maddie Meddings and Lucy Small
Edinburgh Debut of Ceibo and Discussion with Maddie Meddings and Lucy Small
Be part of the Edinburgh debut screening of Ceibo, a film that traces the journey of surfers Pacha Light and Lucy Small through Ecuador as they explore ways to live in harmony with our environment.
What is the true price of our consumption? It means swapping the invaluable marine life in our seas for plastic waste, contaminating our waterways, and harming communities as our hunger for cutting-edge technology grows and our reliance on fossil fuels intensifies. What lessons can we draw from the women of Ecuador, who share a profound bond with their land and people, and who experience the brunt of these environmental damages firsthand?
From the battle for land rights in the Andes and Amazon, to a trailblazing Olympic surfer paving the way for women, to the urgent mission to safeguard the waters of the Galapagos Islands, Ceibo delves into some of the most pressing challenges of our era. Throughout the journey, Pacha rediscovers her identity, reconnecting with her Ecuadorian heritage and embracing her cultural roots.
A portion of each ticket sale, £1, will go to our impact partners who are undertaking vital work in the Ecuadorian regions featured in the film. We also invite you to purchase a raffle ticket to further support these initiatives. Tickets can be bought online in advance or at the venue on the evening of the event.
Refreshments and drinks will be on offer during the night!
