CWGC War Graves Week 2025 Perth Jeanfield and Wellshill Cemetery
Come along for a complimentary guided visit to Perth (Jeanfield and Wellshill) Cemetery. While our tours are offered at no cost, we encourage you to support our cause by making a contribution to our associated charity, The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF). You can donate via their website at https://foundation.cwgc.org/donate/. We will gather at the Polish plot, located at the primary entrance on Jeanfield Road.
During World War II (1939-1945), this cemetery was designated as a burial ground for Polish forces, as Scotland served as a hub for the Polish Armed Forces in the UK. Situated in the southern section of the Jeanfield Division, it houses more than 350 graves. A prominent granite Cross of Sacrifice stands in a dominant spot within the cemetery, positioned north of the Commonwealth War Graves from the 1939-1945 period.
This location now honors over 90 war dead from 1914-1918 and more than 120 from 1939-1945 under the Commonwealth commemoration. Please note that parking is limited in the vicinity, there are no amenities on-site, and the terrain includes steep and hilly areas. We advise dressing appropriately for the weather and wearing sturdy footwear.
The Commonwealth War Graves Foundation (CWGF) strives to connect diverse communities with the mission of the CWGC by sharing compelling narratives through educational initiatives and community engagement. The CWGF operates as an independent charity, registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales (1171947) and Scotland (SC051982).
Please be aware that this event requires payment.
