Ciarb Scottish Branch Conference 2025

The yearly conference of the Ciarb Scottish Branch is scheduled for the afternoon of 24 April 2025 at the Royal Society of Edinburgh. The theme for the session is ‘Looking Ahead – Reflecting on Past Lessons to Enhance Future Dispute Resolution.’ Attendees will gain insights from several prominent figures in the Scottish construction industry, covering topics such as mediation, arbitration, and expert testimony, alongside an update on recent case law. The lineup includes:

– A case law overview by Colin Fraser (Pinsent Masons)
– Engaging perspectives on arbitration, mediation, and expert testimony from:
– Neil Kelly (Morton Fraser MacRoberts)
– Jane Fender-Allison (Burness Paull)
– Andrew Drennan (Alvarez & Marsal)

The event will commence with a networking lunch at 1pm, followed by the main conference from 2pm to 5pm. This session is set to be both enlightening and stimulating.

Both members and non-members are welcome to attend.

After the conference, the annual lecture will be delivered. This year, we are thrilled to feature Gillian Carmichael-Lemaire, the newly appointed Chair of the Scottish Arbitration Centre, as our guest speaker.

The day will conclude with the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and a drinks reception.
