Andy White Edinburgh UK Tour 2025

Andy White – Edinburgh – UK Tour 2025
Date: To Be Confirmed
Venue: Leith Depot

Marking 40 years since the launch of his first EP, *Religious Persuasion*, Irish musician Andy White has returned to his roots in Belfast. He is set to embark on a UK and Ireland tour from May to June 2025 to promote his latest live album, *The night is approaching though some would say it was morning* (Floating World Records). The tour kicks off at the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival in Belfast and concludes at Glastonbury, where Andy has been invited by longtime friend Billy Bragg to perform on the Left Field stage.

The new release is a double-CD package, with one disc capturing an evening performance and the other an afternoon session. The vinyl edition includes the evening set, along with a download code for both sessions. Andy’s live performances will showcase a selection of tracks spanning his career, from early hits like ‘Religious Persuasion’ and ‘James Joyce’s Grave’ to later works such as ‘Italian Girls on Mopeds’ and ‘Good Luck I Hope You Make It’. The Belfast singer-songwriter is back where he belongs.

Their friendship began during a recording session at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios, where they quickly bonded. John has since mixed and produced several of Andy’s projects, including the recent *AT* album with Tim Finn. After attending one of Andy’s gigs, John expressed his desire to own a recording of the raw, solo performance he’d just witnessed—no band, no overdubs. When Andy asked where they should record, John replied, “The finest-sounding space on earth—Studio Two at Abbey Road.”

On July 14, 2023, Andy and John arrived at Abbey Road. John’s history with the iconic studio dates back to 1970, when he landed his first job there—on the very day the Beatles took their famous zebra crossing photo. For Andy, the studio held a nostalgic charm; he’d grown up listening to records made there and gazing at images of the space since hearing *Revolver* at childhood gatherings. As they pulled in, Giles Martin was just leaving. Andy brought along three guitars and an amp, while John handled all the arrangements. Descending the stairs into
