An Evening with the Rhythm Rascals
A Night of Swing with the Rhythm Rascals
The Friends of Dundee Heritage Trust are delighted to host a special evening featuring The Rhythm Rascals, a talented group of early swing jazz artists. This unique ensemble includes Enrico Tomasso and Joplin Parnell from London, joined by Katie Cavera and Hannah Dexter-Rose from Los Angeles!
Enrico, a celebrated trumpeter, has been named the UK’s best trumpet player five times. Renowned globally and highly sought after, his style draws deep inspiration from Louis Armstrong, whom he met as a child and maintained contact with until Armstrong’s passing.
Joplin Parnell stands out as a rising star in New Orleans-style piano. With a rich musical background and roots in both New Orleans and London, he frequently performs at prestigious venues, including the iconic Ronnie Scott’s in London.
Katie Cavera is a standout in vintage jazz and blues, captivating audiences with her exceptional guitar and banjo skills. She’s a regular at major U.S. festivals and also dedicates time each year to teaching at prominent hot jazz camps in New York and New Orleans.
Hannah Rose Dexter, a skilled bassist and composer, brings her passion for jazz, blues, and folkloric music to stages across the U.S. and Europe, enchanting listeners with her performances.
Prepare for an exhilarating and heartwarming night of classic swing that promises to lift your spirits. This performance marks the first time these four musicians will share the stage together in this lineup, debuting at the historic Verdant Works Museum in the stunning High Mill. We’re ecstatic to showcase this exceptional group, and the proceeds from this fundraising event will support improvements to the museum’s visitor experience. Don’t let this extraordinary evening pass you by—save the date now!
Note: This is a ticketed event.
