An Evening of Poetry

Come along for a captivating poetry evening with Morag Anderson, Alexandra Corrin-Tachibana, and Ken Evans on Thursday, May 8th, at 6:30pm. Each poet will share selections from their most recent works.

Morag Anderson’s second chapbook, *And I Will Make of You a Vowel Sound*, earned the Aryamati Poetry Pamphlet Prize and was praised by TS Eliot Prize winner Joelle Taylor as “Delicate and furious…a haunting blend of worship, rebellion, and narrative.” She served as poet-in-residence at the 2024 Birnam Book Festival and during Dublin’s Creative Brain Week 2024 at Trinity College. Her recent projects include commissions from The Scottish Poetry Library, The Canmore Suicide Prevention Trust, The National Trust for Scotland, and the Perth Festival of the Arts.

Alexandra Corrin-Tachibana’s debut full collection, *Sing me down from the dark*, is now in its third printing. Jacqueline Saphra called it “Vulnerable, precise, and deeply moving, these generous, brave, and shattering poems pull you in, embrace you, and leave you both exhausted and uplifted.”

Ken Evans’ latest work, *To An Occupier Burning Holes*, subtitled *A Full On Basso Profundo*, is set for release in February 2025. His earlier collection of the same title was published by Salt in 2022. Ken’s poetry has been featured in publications such as *Poetry Scotland*, *Magma*, *Under the Radar*, *14*, *The High Window*, *IS&T*, and *The Interpreter’s House*. He has also won the Kent & Sussex Poetry Competition in 2018 and the Battered Moons competition in 2016.
