Forbes of Kingennie is home to 14 self catering lodges sleeping from 2 to 10 guests per lodge. The Leannan boathouse is perfect for a romantic get away for couples, with larger lodges sleeping up to 10 guests are ideal for parties and family get togethers. Luxury woodland lodges and Shepherd Huts in an outstanding countryside location, yet minutes from Dundee. Excellent facilities including a Waterside Restaurant and Cairn O’ Mount bar open seven days. The Shepherds Huts (The Stargazer and Coorie Doon) sleep two and are the newest addition to the resort. Both Shepherd Huts come fully kitted out with everything you need on a self-catering break. In The Stargazer, you’ll find a fully-fitted kitchen complete with an oak worktop, Butler sink, integrated fridge, combination microwave, induction hob and all the crockery and cutlery you’ll need. There’s more! Underfloor heating, a TV, a built-in bed and mattress, a chesterfield sofa, a fold-down oak table and two wooden chairs, plus, a bathroom with an Edwardian shower, heated towel rail and a toilet. The highlight is the stargazing window above the bed. When you step outside you are welcomed onto a secluded space with lush Astroturf, that leads to a gas firepit with oak benches, as well as a picnic bench with a pergola, where you can make the most of al fresco dining with waterside views. Whether you want to put your feet up and (literally) watch the world go by in the Stargazer or fling open the French doors of Coorie Doon and head for an adventure in the Angus countryside, there is something for everyone. With a perfect balance of activity and calm, you can plan a few days away from the grindstone and enjoy laid-back luxury on a Scottish staycation. Facilities here at the resort include our 9 hole golf course, putting green and driving range, 4 well stocked fishing ponds as well as the Thistle maze and outdoor children’s playpark.
