An imposing, and somewhat unusual building, Huntingtower Castle was originally built by the Ruthven Clan in the 15th century and has been added to over the ensuing years. It’s located a few kilometres from the centre of Perth.

What to see and do
- Get to grips with the castle’s odd layout – its two closely placed tower houses form an unusual arrangement
- Look for the delicately painted ceiling dating from about 1540 and painted plasterwork of a similar date
