Dundee’s getting a very good night out this March, with one of Scotland’s sharpest stand-ups rolling into town.

Christopher Macarthur-Boyd: Howling At The Moon lands at Whitehall Theatre on Wednesday 18 March 2026, bringing the show that had folk scrambling for tickets after a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe 2025.

If you’ve seen his name popping up more and more lately, there’s a reason. Christopher’s become one of the most in-demand Scottish comics around the kind of performer who can be properly daft one minute, quietly brutal the next, and somehow still make it feel like you’re all in on the joke together.

What’s the show about?

Howling At The Moon is described as “nocturnal stand-up about neurodivergence, sexuality and lunacy.”

Which sounds heavy on paper but this is CMB we’re talking about. His whole thing is taking the messy bits of being human and turning them into something hilarious, strangely comforting, and very, very funny. Expect big laughs, clever turns, and the sort of offbeat observations you’ll still be quoting on the walk to the bus home.

If you know him, you know. If you don’t, here’s your cue.

Christopher is also the co-host of the chart-topping comedy podcast Here Comes The Guillotine, alongside Frankie Boyle and Susie McCabe, and he’s been building a proper reputation across TV, radio, and live comedy.

He’s starred in his own comedy specials Oh No and Scary Times, hosted the BBC New Comedy Award, and appeared on shows including Scotland Stands Up and Frankie Boyle’s New World Order. He’s also opened for some serious names Kevin Bridges, Kerry Godliman, Jason Manford, David Cross, and more which tells you the level he’s operating at.

And critics have been just as convinced:

  • “Scotland is producing some compelling young comics right now, with CMB chief among them” Chortle
  • “Has the audience roaring with laughter from start to finish” **** The Scotsman
  • “Funny, thoughtful, gently weird, and utterly relatable” **** One4Review
  • “Effortless, big laughs…” **** The List
